The Algebra Line

The Algebra Line presents an overview of algebraic subjects for review. Each subject is presented as a problem to solve followed by the mathematical solution of the problem. With this practical application as an example, the principles of algebra designated for the station are then reviewed. Stations may have examples and interactive problems throughout and each provides interactive exercises following the presentation.

What are fractions? What are their properties? Do you know how to find a Least Common Denominator? a Least Common Multiple? How do you do arithmetic with fractions?

Do you need a short way to represent a large number? Do you need to do arithmetic with large numbers efficiently? What is exponential representation? What are logarithms? What are natural logarithms? How do you do arithmetic with logarithms? How are logarithms related to exponents?

What is a quadratic equation? How do you solve a quadratic equation? What is the Quadratic Formula? How do you use the Quadratic Formula? When should you use a quadratic equation?

How do you recognize a series? When could you use an arithmetic series? When could you use a geometric series? When could you use a binomial series? What other series types are there?
