The Probability Line
The Probability Line presents an overview of probability subjects for review. Each subject is presented as a problem to solve followed by the mathematical solution of the problem. With this practical application as an example, the principles of probability designated for the station are then reviewed. Stations may have examples and interactive problems throughout and each provides interactive exercises following the presentation.
What is probability? How do tell an independent event from a compound event? What are some basic properties of probability? What is conditional probability?
What are random variables and how are they used? What are discrete random variables? What are some examples of discrete random variables? What are continuous random varibles? What are some examples of continuous random variables?
What is the concept of expectations? What is the definition of an expectation? What are variance and standard deviation? What is the method of moments? What is co-variance? What are other methods of dispersion?
What are probability distributions? What are binomial distributions? normal distributions? Poisson distributions? uniform distributions? How do you use these distributions?
