OVERVIEW

This course is a broad introduction to the theory and practice of Information Security. It serves as the first security course for the MS-ISA degree and is required as a pre-requisite for all subsequent ISA courses (at the 600 and 700 levels). It also serves as an entry level course available to non-ISA students, including MS-CS, MS-ISE and MS-SWE students.

GRADING POLICY

You will be graded on a total of 1000 points. Your grade will be calcuated as follows:

• 300 points Assignments

• 400 points Midterm exams (2 @ 200 points each)

• 300 points Final exam

Final letter grade will be calculated using the scale below-

≥ 980	A+
≥ 930	A
≥ 900	A-
≥ 870	B+
≥ 840	B
≥ 800	B-
≥ 750	C
≥ 500	F

NOTES

The Midterms and Final are closed book.

All assignments must be done individually by each student, unless explicitly required otherwise.
