SIBHI: A Great Career Opportunity in Bioengineering and Health Informatics at Oakland University (May 14 - July 20, 2007) - 1/11/07

Program Features: 10 weeks full time research program. Research in teams of 3 under close supervision by an interdisciplinary team of faculty. Variety of research topics available in bioengineering and health informatics. Undergraduate students receive a stipend of $4,000, graduate students receive a stipend of $5,500. UnCoRe: Undergraduate Computer Research at Oakland University (May 14 - July 20, 2007) - 1/11/07

The CS and Engineering Department at Oakland University (Michigan) invites students to apply to its 5th summer of an NSF-funded Research Experience for Undergraduate students. The students selected to participate will be immersed in a research environment under the mentoring of CSE faculty. This program is a full-time comprehensive educational experience targeted to women in particular. It should be understood by the students that this position is not merely a summer job, but rather an educational experience where the students are treated as junior colleagues. Participants will receive a stipend of $3,600 for the 10 weeks, meal allowance, and travel subsidy for either travel to and from the program or to attend a conference.

Center for American Progress: Online Communications Internships - 11/17/06

Kitt Peak National Observatory (KPNO): 2007 Summer Research Assistants - 11/16/06

KPNO is a division of the National Optical Astronomy Observatory (NOAO) has 6 research assistant positions through the NSF-Funded Research Experiences for Undergraduates (REU) Program. The KPNO REU program provides an exceptional opportunity for undergraduates considering a career in science to engage in substantive research activities with scientists working in the forefront of contemporary astrophysics. Cerro Tololo Inter-American Observatory (CTIO): Undergraduate Research Assistants - 8/22/06

In La Serena, Chile, this is a division of the US National Optical Astronomy Observatory (NOAO) which offers 6 undergraduate research assistantships from approximately 1/15/07-3/24/07. Students considering a career in science will work on specific research projects in close collaboration with members of the local scientific staff on subjects such as galaxy clusters, gravitational lensing, supernovae, planetary nebulae, stellar populations, star formation, variable stars, and the interstellar medium. Furthermore, the CTIO REU program provides opportunities for direct observational experience using CTIO's state of the art telescopes and instrumentation.

Must be enrolled full time as undergraduate students, and be citizens or permanent residents of the US. Positions are full time with a salary of $420/week. Travel costs there and back are covered, and furnished housing is provided on the AURA/CTIO compound for approximately $220/month.
