Develop a procedural manual for staff and future volunteers to use and test the database periodically during the internship.
Eligibility Criteria: •You will be required to commit to working a minimum of 45 hours (undergraduate level) or 120 hours (graduate level) over the semester. •The work will need to be performed during Library Hours: Sunday: Noon - 6 Monday to Thursday: 10 - 9 Friday: 10 to 6 Saturday: 10 to 5 flexibility in these hours •This will be an unpaid position. •You will need to provide your own transportation. CUE buses pass by the library and there is ample parking at the branch. •The student must be at least a junior or a senior in a recognized undergraduate program in History, Computer Science or a graduate student in History, possess strong IT skills, Database programming, an interest in history is a plus.

Reston Limousine - Website Maintenance 2/12/08
We are exploring conventional and unconventional ways to enhance our website and Internet presence. Since our company and GMU have such a positive business relationship, I would like to find out if the school is interested in taking on our website as a teaching tool. We have already had many students interview our company for case studies (one even won an award!), so this could be another one of those projects. Our goal is to make it more functional for our internal departments, client interaction, and ecommerce, in addition to increasing our overall web presence through search engine optimization.

American Legion Post 270 McLean VA - System Conversion/Upgrade 2/5/08
I am George Dailey; Vice comander of McLean American Legion Post 270; 1355 Balls Hill Road; McLean Virginia 22101. Our post raises most of its revenue by a monthly sale of Citrus Fruit we have shipped in from Florida during each month from November through April. We currently use an old SQL based system to accumulate phone and Email Citrus pre-orders, print invoices, develop the fruit order, etc for between 4 and 8 fruit product types. The product types vary each month as the season progresses. Our current system lacks the flexibility to adapt to the product and customer mix and is cumbersome to use for maintaining customer address, phone and Email information or for accumulating sale statistics.
Like most such organizations; our funds are limited. However we would very much like to upgrade our system processing from pre-ordering through Sale Summary to a Microsoft Access based system. I was wondering if you might have a student that would take on this task either as part of their classwork or as a low cost contract with our Post.
You can contact me at georgedailey1@verizon.net or phone at 703-963-1369.
Thanks very much for your consideration. George Dailey
