INFS 614: Fall 2011 - Details

  1. Exams

The mid-term exam is on 25 October, and the final exam is on 13 December, and you must attend both. There will be no alternative exam dates!

  2. Homework

All homework must be done individually by the submitting student. You may not collaborate with other students, and you may not submit the work of others (for example, from previous semesters) as your own. I take the honor code seriously!

  3. Use of material

The material provided by the instructor (slides, homework, solutions, etc.) is for the exclusive use of students who are presently enrolled in this course. All downloading of this material by others, and any distribution of this material (including uploading the material to other sites) is prohibited as both an honor code violation and copyright infringement.

  4. Classroom etiquette

    1. All mobile phones must be turned off and put away for the duration of the lecture. Texting or browsing are not permitted.
    2. The use of laptops is strictly limited to note-taking.
    3. Late entries and early exits should be avoided, but are permitted -- however, a student is allowed one entry and one exit in each period.
    4. Each lecture is 150 minutes; therefore the time slot 4:30-7:10 allows for one 10 minute break.
    5. About using e-mail
  5. Requirements

    1. Homework assignments (30%)
    2. Midterm exam (30%)
    3. Final exam (40%)

Incompletes will be allowed only for personal emergencies, not for work overload (either at school or at work).
