CSGSA Web PageThe CSGSA represents graduate students in the Computer Science Department at George Mason University. We started as an informal organization among friends and this year we are expanding our activities, attracting new members, and trying to get more involved. We are open to all students who are interested in computing, so anyone who finds the field appealing is welcome to participate. Our mission is to provide graduate students with a voice in departmental affairs and increase the interaction among the student and the faculty body within the Volgenau School of IT&E by organizing meetings, outings, and seminars. We are devoted to providing an academic peer network to graduate students by offering guidance about coursework, advisors, and graduate life in general. We are holding more group events in order to bring the various departments within the Volgenau School of IT&E together. We plan to organize research seminars where graduate students have a chance to present their ideas as well as to become familiar with the work of others. We are creating an active alumni network; we are providing assistance and advice to students with regards to career choices, employment opportunities, and strategies.
