GMU Teams

GMU has at least two teams planning to attend the competition -- Team "Lego" (for lack of a better name) and Team "Blue Bot" (again, for lack of a better name).

Team Lego

There is the bot from last year, or a new bot can be constructed. The current bot is constructed using the following:

  • Legos
  • XPort microcontroller
    • Programmed in Interactive C
    • Onboard camera
  • Optical wheel encoders
  • Sharp IR range sensors
  • UVTron flame detector
  • Hat sensor (white line detector)
  • Case fan, for putting out the flame

  • 400 MHz Gumstix
  • Robostix
  • 8" diameter extruded PVC disks
  • standoffs
  • modified servos as motors
  • wheel watcher quadrature encoders

  • Fast DC Motor and propeller from Toys R'Us toy
  • CMUCam and Violet Saran Wrap
