Kumasi
Kumasi, 4-plus hours north by bus from Cape Coast, is known for its huge market and Ashanti culture. I did not take many pictures in the market (none shown here), but had a fabulous time as people reacted to my "Proud to be part of Ghana@50" T-shirt and we became a 2-man parade, smiling and waving in response to shouts of welcome.
Shopping on the street in the sunshine.
National Culture Centre getting a whole lot of additions.
War Museum: Ghanaians fought for the British crown as the colony of Gold Coast. They fought against Italy in Abyssinia/Ethiopia and against Japan in Burma during World War II. We saw armaments and flags they captured. More recently, as an independent nation, they have supplied troops for UN operations in many countries.
