Detection of the road and the number of lanes
Research Project Goal
We have a large corpus of panoramic video that is geo-referenced. The video has been collected by a car instrumented with high-recision GPS and inertial sensors.
The goal of this project is to detect the road and estimate the number of lanes in the current video
stream.
Research Project Scope
Given the knowledge where the road, devise a method for estimating the number of lanes.
Data
Video stream of the images acquired by a panoramic camera will be available.

Tasks
- Extract road (both geometry of the camera set up as well as road appearance can be used here)
- Develop an algorithm for estimating number of lanes
