Detection of the road and the number of lanes

Research Project Goal

We have a large corpus of panoramic video that is geo-referenced. The video has been collected by a car instrumented with high-recision GPS and inertial sensors. The goal of this project is to detect the road and estimate the number of lanes in the current video stream.

Research Project Scope

Given the knowledge where the road, devise a method for estimating the number of lanes.
