E-mail" from Mason's Popular Sites drop-down menu. You will need
your PIN and student id number. To have your address forwarded,
access your e-mail at https://mail.gmu.edu,
click on Options, select Settings, enter the e-mail address to forward to,
and click on Save Changes. All class-related communication
will be sent to your GMU account.
- Read chapter 1 of the textbook and do the exercises at the end
of the chapter. There will be a class discussion about them.

Review questions for the midterm.
- There are no classes on 10/27/03.
- There is a midterm on 11/3/03. All the material covered in class up to
10/20/03 should be studied for the midterm, including chapters 1 through 4 of the
textbook, all the readings assigned in the course home page,
and all the slides discussed in class.
The exam is closed book and closed notes. Please bring a pocket
calculator to the exam. You will not be allowed to borrow one from
your colleagues.

- Term paper presentation: each student will have a total of 12 minutes
(10 for the presentation and 2 for questions). Please arrive 10 minutes
before class with your presentation on a disk so that we can load all
of them before the presentations start.
