Biographical Notes

My undergraduate studies were at the University of Pisa, Italy. I have earned a Doctorate in mathematics at CUNY in 1995: here is my Math Genealogy. In the last few years, I have been working as a Software Engineer & Scientist in the Metro DC Area, mostly in small R&D companies. Recently, I have founded my own math modeling company .

Teaching

I have been teaching off and on in the GMU CS Department since the Spring 2002. Here is a list of the courses I have taught thus far:

Book

Prof. Noson S. Yanofsky from Brooklyn College, and yours truly, have witten a book on Quantum Computing geared toward Computer Scientists. It is published by Cambridge University Press, and is available on Amazon by the end of the Summer 2008. The book's page is here. Check it out!

Research

Here is a partial list of research topics I am currently working on:

  • Augmented Intelligence via Ideographic Human Computer Interfaces
  • Abstract Duality Theory (i.e. Stone, Tannaka, Gelfand, all in the same bag)
  • Quantum AI (Quantum Fuzziness)
  • Ultrafinitistic Mathematics (Dissipative Proof Theory, Model Theory of Ultrafinitism)
  • Hypergraph Models of Social Aggregation & Interaction
  • Universal Geometric Algebra (invariant definition of Clifford Algebras)

If you have an interest in any of the foregoing, please drop me a message.

Affiliations

I am a member of the Society for Industrial and Applied Mathematics (SIAM). You can find my postings (from time to time) on the Foundations of Mathematics (FOM) list.
