CS451 Fall 02 FINAL
The
final will be in the same format as the midterm: roughly 25 questions, some of
which multiple choice, some as
short
calculations. Final starts at 7.30 pm and lasts till 10 pm (if you finish
early, just leave the classroom quietly).
No notebooks allowed. You can bring in the
Red Book. If you do not, you will have to use my copy: no exchange
of material of any kind (except pens) is
allowed.
Here
is a quick review (chapters refer to the GL Red Book):
1)
Chapter
4, Color: ALL.
2)
Chapter
5, Lighting: EVERYTHING, till page 215 (excluded).
3)
Chapter
6: only Fog, from 243 to 249
4)
Chapter
9, Texture Mapping: from 351 to 361 (pay particular attention to example 9-1).
Moreover,
familiarize yourself with all the basic commands for texturing as explained in
the
tutorial at http://nate.scuzzy.net/docs/texture/
and in the Red Book (go through each
step of example 9-1 and try to grasp the meaning of
the parameters involved) .
Please review carefully Nate’s tutorials on color,
fog and texturing: correct understanding of these tutorials
is a background to the questions on programming.
Exercises will include calculations on smooth
shading, light intensity, the fog equations, and mapping textels to
world coordinates.
NOTE:
For math equations on lighting as seen in the last
lecture, please refer to Dr. Chen’s notes
and to the section of the
Red Book “the Math of Lighting” in Chapter 5.
