  • Class here is the Take Home Exam . It is due at the beginning of class on 17 October. Please print out this pdf and write your solutions on this paper. It should provide adequate space, but if you heed to attach additional sheets of paper that is fine.
  • As noted in the email I sent out on Wed Sept. 21st, the first exam will be a take home exam. It will be available on 10/10 and be due at the beginning of class on 10/17
  • The exam has been moved to 10/10. I will make a decision on whether it will be take-home or in-class by the end of the week.
  • I just realized I left Ch #15 on the reading list for last week's lecture. That chapter discusses ACLs and C-Lists
  • I may not be able to make class on 10/10. If not, the first exam will be switched to 10/10, and it will be a take home exam since we have no TA to proctor an in-class exam. If I have to do this, I will give the lecture currentely scheduled for 10/10 on Monday 10/3.
  • I have updated the slides for Monday 9/12
  • I did not relize Mason aadded a new email system for students, so I had the wrong link for setting up your email account. It is correct now.
  • The Computer Science Department has chosen not to provide a TA for section 001 of ISA562 since the enrollment is under 35 students. As a result, homework will not be graded, and its weight in determining your grade will be reduced. You still need to turn it in so I can check that you are doing the work in a timely manner. It will be worth 1 point if you have done the work and 0 points if your effort appears to be inadequaqte. The new grading weights are
    • exam 1: 30%
    • exam 2: 30%
    • exam 3: 30%
    • homework 10%
  • While ISA562 will cover some material from the CISSP exam, it does not cover all the material, and you should not plan on this course preparing you to take that exam.
  • I have completed the notional lecture schedule as shown on the Home page, but it may change as the term progresses.
  • The slides will probably change as late as the day of the lecture. I will provide an updated mm/dd when I make changes.
  • NO extra credit is provided for this course.
  • You cannot reschedule the exams, so coordinate your travel accordingly
