- OBJECTIVE:
-
To bring together all the concepts, knowledge, and skills from
the previous SWE courses,
and to apply them in a complete development project.
To practice developing software the way it should be developed,
instead of the way it usually is.
Students analyze, design, implement, and manage a software system project.
Students work in teams to develop or modify a software product,
applying sound principles of software engineering.
Both industrial and academic standards are used
to assess the quality of the work products.
- CONTENT:
-
This course is centered around a major team project.
There are no exams, homeworks, and few lectures.
Classtime will primarily be used to discuss development
issues with the professor.
- GRADING:
-
Grades will be based on team and individual performance
on the project.
For each milestone in the project,
the team will be assigned a numeric grade between 0 and 100.
Each individual will receive a "percent contribution",
which will be determined from peer evaluations and
by the professor's assessment.
The sum of the percent contributions for all team members
will equal 100%.
Individual numeric grades will be the team grade,
multiplied by the size of the team,
multiplied by your percent contribution.
If everyone contributes equally,
then everyone on the team will receive the same grade.
