This distribution of Mothra is a compressed
"tar" format file.  To unpack it, you do the following:
   mkdir mothra
   mv Mothra.tar.Z mothra
   cd mothra
   zcat Mothra.tar.Z | tar xf -
   rm Mothra.tar.Z

(The "zcat" program is part of the "compress" package.  This code has
been widely circulated on the Usenet and is released with BSD 4.3.)

The Mothra X interface (xmothra) is not supported for releases of X11
before X11R4..  You must also have the HP widgets (Xw) to install
xmothra.  The Xw widgets were originally provided by Hewlett-Packard
Company as unsupported, user-contributed code and are used in the
first edition of Doug Young's book "X Window Systems Programming and
Applications With Xt", Prentice-Hall, 1989, ISBN 0-13-972167-3.

You can get the Xw widgets from the ftp site ``export.lcs.mit.edu''
(/contrib/Xw.tar.Z) using anonymous ftp.

NOTE: I have never been able to get xmothra to work anywere besides
      Purdue, where they have made local mods.  Rumors are that it
      will not work outside the state of Indiana.  Try kmothra (from
      isse.gmu.edu), which is a menu driven interface that I like
      better anyway.
