Will you write me a Letter of Recommendation?

Perhaps, but with the following caveats:

• Please don't ever use me as a reference without asking me first.
• If you're in my class, I generally won't write a reference before the end of the semester.
• Asking me for a LOR is giving me tacit permission to discuss your class performance with the recipient.
• If the LOR is for employment, I'll consider your personality and interpersonal skills in addition to your academic performance.
