Usability Evaluation


Purpose: Set up the usability evaluation using Shneiderman's criteria

For this exercise, you will examine one of the websites (provided in class) and perform the following tasks.

  1. Specify which website (URL) you examined
  2. Describe who the intended (majority) users are (e.g., age range, language, technical/computer skill, etc)
  3. Rank the five usability criteria (time to learn, speed of performance, avoid user errors, retention over time, and subjective satisfaction)
  4. Justify why the criteria are ranked in this order (why it is the most/least important)
  5. Specify the goal (i.e., expectation or acceptance level) for each criterion
