- PREREQS:
SWSE 621 or permission of the instructor. Practical experience in software
development strongly preferred.
- Course Description:
This course covers both formal and practical aspects of the emerging discipline
of Software Architecture.
Some topics to be covered include Architectural Styles, Architectural Design and Analysis,
Architecture Description Languages (ADLs) and Case Studies.

- L. Bass, P. Clements, R. Kazman Software Architecture in Practice, Addison-Wesley, 1998.
- Assorted papers
- GRADING:
This course will be run and graded as a seminar. Grades will be determined
based on student projects/presentations, written homework assignments and class participation.
Approximate Percentages
- Homeworks: 20%
(5-6 question sets from readings and case study presentation)
- Individual Paper/Project: 50%
- Presentation of Paper/Project: 20%
- Class Participation: 10%
