Research Interests
My main research area is the design of evolutionary systems, capable
of addressing difficult problems.
These representations are currently catching my attention:
Rule Systems (Pitt approach)
Finite State Machines
Cellular Automata
L-Systems
Genetic Regulatory Networks
Artificial Neural Networks
Linear GP
On them I am focused on evolvability and modularity.
Other topics of interest in evolutionary computation
are generative representations (with emphasis on
artificial development), new operators and algorithms that give evolution
a 'killer instinct'.
In artificial intelligence I am drawn towards game playing, especially the
game of GO.
In computer science in general I have an interest in programming languages,
compilers, parallel programming.
