For some of the assignments in this class, you will need to make a
"typescript" that shows the code, the compilation, and execution,
and then you will email it to your TA. This isn't hard, but you must
follow the instructions below carefully:
- At the unix prompt, type: script
- (You'll now see the csh prompt) type: cat -n filename.java
- to compile the program type: javac filename.java
- to run the program type: java filename
- type: exit
- (everything you've just typed has been saved to a file called typescript)
- to mail the typescript to your TA type (at the Unix prompt):
201-203 students (Mon labs):
mail it10801@mason.gmu.edu<typescript
204-206 students(Fri labs):
mail it10802@mason.gmu.edu<typescript
Alternatively, you can use pine and address it to the
appropriate TA grading account (CC yourself). Scroll
down into the message area and type control-r and
then enter: typescript
Note: if your typescript is in your public_html directory,
you will have to enter: public_html/typescript
