INFT 867: Intelligent Databases
Spring 1998 --- Prof. Ami Motro
Study of models and techniques that empower database systems with
intelligent and cooperative behavior, with emphasis on five areas
of high current interest:

Knowledge-rich databases

Cooperative databases
-
Management of uncertain information
-
Information quality
-
Intelligent integration of information
This course will discuss research opportunities in these areas.
Students may become involved in on-going research projects (for example,
Multiplex).

Prerequisites

A basic course in database management (for example,
INFS-614: Database Management),
good knowledge of discrete mathematics (for example, INFS-501:
Discrete and Logical Structures for Information Systems).

Requirements

Project or term paper, active participation in discussions.

There is no textbook for this course. Copies of research papers
and other material will be distributed to the students.
