Ghana@50 in Accra
This was it, the big one. We were in the capital for three days: before, on and after March 6, the 50th anniversary of Ghana's Independence in 1957 as the first new nation of post-colonial sub-Saharan Africa. Here it was not just fresh paint, but pride and excitement. Photos here are all from the 6th.
Ghana Man. As you may guess, red, yellow (or gold) and green are the colors of the nation and its flag. If anyone does not agree that this is the coolest outfit, I just don't know what to say.
Can you feel it?
Good views were available provided you were creative and athletic.
Another way to see was to come way early and get into the stands.
Yet another way was to find someone's shoulders to sit on.

Clothes make the man. It's easy to make new friends when you dress right.
Flags everywhere
