SWE 205 Reading Reflection Number 3
Due Monday, February 5, 2024

  1. List the names of students in your group.
  2. Did everyone in your group contribute to the discussion of your solutions to this reading reflection? If not, who did not?
  3. Ko discusses the issue of "fairness" in her treatment of "mediation of computation". Can you give a specific example of a "fair" vs. and "unfair" computation?
  4. Ko discusses "metadata" in her treatment of "mediation of information". Can you give a specific example of such metadata and explain why it is important from a usability perspective?
  5. Ko explains that interfaces that mediate communication allow us to convey and interpret cues for social contexts. Using zoom as an example, give some examples of how these cues differ in the recent online learning environment from the face-to-face classroom experience we are enjoying this semester - and, by extension, how that affects usability.
