I am joining Virginia Tech starting Fall'22 semester (here). Tessema M. Mengistu is an Assistant Professor (Term) at the Department of Computer Science of George Mason University (GMU), USA. Before joining GMU, he was a Clinical Assistant Professor at the Department of Computer Science, Southern Illinois University Carbondale, USA. Tessema earned his Ph.D. from Southern Illinois University Carbondale in 2018. During his PhD, he was working in Cloud Computing and Big Data Lab under the supervision of Prof. Che. Dr. Mengistu received his M.Sc. and B.Sc. in Computer Science and Statistics, respectively, from Addis Ababa University, Ethiopia. He also received his second M.Sc. degree from the University of Nice-Sophia Antipolis (Ubinet), France.

His research interests include Cloud Computing, Edge Computing, Edge Intelligence, Big Data, IoT, and Information Retrieval.
