ICST Steering Committee

The International Conference on Software Testing, Verification and Validation is committed to planning conference locations at least two years in advance. The steering committee wants to locate future conference and choose conference leaders to continue to grow the conference into the major research event in the field of software testing, verification and validation.

The ICST Steering Committee invites proposals from individuals and groups to chair and organize future International Conferences on Software Testing, Verification and Validation (ICST).

Proposals should address the following goals set by the ICST Steering Committee:

1. Create programs to meet current and future needs for improving the quality of software through testing, verification and validation for industry and governments.
2. Foster the growth of research in the area.
3. Plan for a continual increase in ICST attendance.

The first conference was in Norway (Europe) in 2008, and the second is Denver (North America) in 2009. Over the next few years the steering committee would like to locate the conference in the US, Asia, and Europe.

To submit a proposal:

1. Review the ICST charter.
2. Submit a letter of intent indicating your interest by email to the ICST Steering Committee Chair (2011-2014: Benoit Baudry <bbaudry[at]irisa.fr>). Briefly address the goals listed above and include a location (city/country), general chair and program chair. The letter is normally expected to come from the proposed program chair.
3. Present and discuss your proposal in discussions with the complete ICST Steering Committee. The discussion topics will include industry/government/academic relationships, ability to grow research and student programs, etc. Please read the ICST Proposal Guidelines for specific details about what should be addressed in a proposal.
