The CS department welcomes new faculty members Foteini Baldimtsi, Jonathan Bell, Song Min Kim and Parth Pathak, who will be joining the department as tenure-track Assistant Professors and Shvetha Soundararajan who will be joining the department as a Term Assistant Professor.

Dr. Foteini Baldimtsi is currently a postdoctoral scholar at Boston University. She received her PhD in Computer Science from Brown University in 2014. Her research interests are in cryptography, security and data privacy with a special focus in electronic cash, blockchain technologies and private authentication techniques.

Dr. Jonathan Bell completed his PhD in Computer Science at Columbia University in May 2016. His research interests are in software engineering and software systems, focusing on approaches and tools to make it easier for developers to create reliable software.

Dr. Song Min Kim completed his PhD in Computer Science and Engineering at the University of Minnesota in May 2016. His research interests are in wireless, mobile, and low-power embedded sensor networking.

Dr. Parth Pathak is currently a postdoctoral scholar at the University of California at Davis. He received his PhD in Computer Science from North Carolina State University in 2012. His research interests are in wireless networks, mobile and pervasive computing, and network analytics.

Dr. Shvetha Soundararajan received her PhD in Computer Science from Virginia Tech in 2013. Her research interests are in software engineering, with an emphasis on agile software engineering, agile transformation and assessment.
