The Bioinformatics and Computational Biology group includes five faculty in the Department of Computer Science with direct or collaborative research on a variety of topics in bioinformatics and computational biology. Research approaches include AI, evolutionary computing, machine learning, data mining, and probabilistic search and optimization. Applications are diverse, as well, from large-scale analysis of genomics data to detailed modeling and simulation of biological systems.
