The D Programming Language with Walter BrightGRAND Seminar 7:00 pm, April 26, Thur., 2011, Research 1 163 Walter Bright Abstract: Join us for a discussion led by Walter Bright on the D Programming Language and its programming community. The D programming language, D is an advanced systems programming language. It is designed to combine the power and high performance of C and C++ with the programmer productivity of today's modern languages such as Ruby and Python. While ts syntax style resembles C/C++, D is multiparadigm language and supports many styles of programming including: imperative, object-oriented and metaprogramming. Bio: Walter Bright graduated from Caltech in 1979 with a degree in mechanical engineering. He worked for Boeing for 3 years on the development of the 757 stabilizer trim system. He then switched to writing software, in particular compilers, and has been writing them ever since. |
