On Wednesday, September 20, 2016 the Computer Science Department held a welcome event for new CS and ACS majors to usher in the new academic year. 352 new students have enrolled as CS or ACS majors making it the largest incoming class in the history of the CS department. CS is the also the major with the largest freshmen class on campus.

The CS department welcomes new faculty members Foteini Baldimtsi, Jonathan Bell, Song Min Kim and Parth Pathak, who will be joining the department as tenure-track Assistant Professors and Shvetha Soundararajan who will be joining the department as a Term Assistant Professor.

Professor Jim Chen appointed as Editor-in-Chief of the journal Computing in Science & Engineering

Professor Jim Chen's term as Editor in Chief of the journal Computing in Science & Engineering (CiSE) will commence on January 1 2017. Professor Chen has been on the editorial board of CiSE since 1999.
