Sara Gopalkrishna is a teaching professor of computer science at George Mason University. Gopalkrishna holds an EdD in education policy from George Washington University where her focus was on computer science implementation in high schools. She also completed an MA in secondary math education from Columbia University’s Teachers College and an MS in computer science from Portland State University.
Before coming to George Mason, Gopalkrishna taught both high school and university computer science. She was, also, a software engineer at a start-up and a journal editor at the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics. She is passionate about demystifying computer science and broadening the pipeline of computer science professionals. She believes that equity in access and excellent teaching at all levels are important for these goals.
