Abstract
Artificial Intelligence (AI) and ethics go way back, at least to the 1950's; but lately there has been an explosion in interest. We will discuss why AI ethics has always been interesting to a few academics, and why seems to be becoming so popular lately. The talk will feature several examples of AI ethics issues, and participants will split into small groups to discuss at least one of those issues. The talk will finish with some predictions of what issues are likely to become particularly important in the foreseeable future.
