The annual CS Department Graduation Celebration and Awards Dinner was held on May 16, 2018 to recognize students, faculty, and staff for outstanding achievement.
The department bids a fond farewell to Professor Hassan Gomaa, who is retiring after almost 30 years at Mason including more than a decade chairing the CS and ISE departments, and will become an Emeritus Professor. We also bid adieu to Professor Kinga Dobolyi, who is moving to California. We thank them both for their service to the department and our students, and wish them all the best for the future.
Congratulations to Prof. Yotam Gingold for his promotion to the rank of Associate Professor with tenure, to Prof. Mark Snyder for his promotion to Term Associate Professor and to Prof. Huzefa Rangwala and Prof. Amarda Shehu for their promotion to the rank of full Professor!

Congratulations to Professor Huzefa Rangwala for being selected for the 2018 OSCAR Mentoring Excellence Award for 2018. This award recognizes and rewards outstanding Mason community members who mentor undergraduate students on their research and creative activities, and who foster a culture of student scholarship in support at Mason.
